New approach structured by communication areas
Lift structures its communication
consultancy services into 10 practice areas
Lisbon, 6th September, 2007
Lift, the communications, reputation management and public relations consultancy of Grupo Bairro Alto has concluded the structure of its new strategic consulting model based on specialisation by areas of practice, which it will launch in September. The new model is founded on specialisation in 10 areas of practice that allow clients to make use of highly specialised resources in each area, when needed and regardless of their sector of activity.
This new model also makes it possible to make Lift's areas pf specialisation clear to all Stakeholders. “Lift has experiences of great success, which area s diverse as financial communications consulting for IPOs at the Lisbon stock exchange, as were the case with Media Capital and Novabase, or emotional communications consulting, such as the cases of Rock in Rio, Creamfields and Cow Parade,” said Salvador Cunha the managing director of Lift.
“These types of experience have to be built on and can't create incorrect perceptions of Lift’s real skill set. The model now adopted by Lift is a model that has been used by management consultancies for some time and is now beginning to be implemented by some international communications consultancies. The new model makes it possible for Lift’s experiences to be visible across the entire universe of clients, whilst maintaining a tradition of a general communications consultancy,” he said.
The 10 practice areas are:
Of the practice areas that are now being launched, only four of them did not exist at Lift before January of this year, when the practice areas model began to be implemented and tested.
Each practice will be led by a Practice Leader, who will supervise the current communications teams. As well as the team of communications managers ascribed to each client, the projects that are outside the natural scope of the client can count on a group of highly-qualified specialists in terms of drawing up communications strategies designed with immediate needs in mind. “It can stretch from a financial communication project for an industrial company, or a brand activation project for a consumer goods company to a social responsibility project for a bank," Salvador da Cunha explained.
6+4
Of the practice areas now outlined, six already existed within Lift’s skill set: Lift Corporate, Lift Financial, Lift Reputation, Lift Knowledge, Lift Brands and Lift Emotion have been Lift’s specialist area for many years, which are now more intuitively presented, whilst also allowing for greater focus by our specialists on their areas of activity.
In order complete the variety of practices, Lift Lifestyle, Lift Healthcare, Lift Digital and Lift Public Affairs were set up – whose services have been available to customers since January. These practices were set up by highly-qualified professional, with several years of experience.
Lift Lifestyle will be headed up by Marta Menere who, until January, was communications director for Benetton in Portugal and England. Lift Healthcare will be headed up by José Machado, who has been a communications manager at Lift for several years specialising in health communications. Lift Digital will be the responsibility of Miguel Albano, founder of financial newspaper Jornal de Negócios and Internet site Canal de Negócios and Lift Public Affairs and Lift Communications will be led by António Marques Mendes, an executive director of Lift and professor at journalism school, Escola Superior de Comunicação Social.
The remaining practices will be headed up by professionals that have been with the Bairro Alto group for many years. Lift Emotion will be headed up by Catarina Amorim, Lift Brands by Marta Marreiros, Lift Knowledge by Claudia Nogueira and Lift Corporate and Lift Financial by Salvador da Cunha.
By the end of the year Lift plans to launch two more practices, which are being developed internally.
The process of development will end with the reformulation and updating of the company’s website www.lift.com.pt, which is Lift Consulting’s business card. The site provides more detailed information on each practice / subject, respective practice leaders and communications teams.
